What you are paying for
The main upgrade from Traveler is range. Traveler ends at 6,000 VPM. ProAm begins there and adds three faster settings. The manufacturer lists a 1/16 inch amplitude, 90 to 100 minutes of battery life, and a recharge time of roughly 130 to 150 minutes.
It also uses a cordless rechargeable design and includes five built in treatment surfaces. You rotate the device rather than stopping to swap a bag of attachments.
Who it makes sense for
Rapid Release positions ProAm for gym users, runners, cyclists, strength athletes, active professionals, and other serious personal users. That positioning fits the specifications. It gives you more adjustment than Traveler without moving into the fixed high speed professional flagship.
ProAm vs Traveler
The choice is mostly about portability, intensity range, and budget. Traveler is about one pound lighter and $300 less at current pricing. ProAm provides the broader speed range. If your reason for buying is travel or occasional gentle use, paying twice as much may not solve a real problem.
ProAm vs Pro3+
Pro3+ adds professional positioning, roughly 10,000 VPM operation, a two year warranty, and a different battery setup. ProAm remains the more straightforward personal purchase for someone who wants adjustable speeds.
