A handheld device can fit before or after activity, but it should support the routine rather than replace the basics. The goal before exercise is preparation for movement. The goal afterward is usually comfort and transition out of the session.
Before activity
Keep the broader warm up intact. Sport specific movement, gradual loading, and practice of the patterns you are about to perform still matter. If a vibration device feels useful, treat it as an optional addition rather than the whole warm up.
After activity
A short device session can be part of a personal wind down routine. Avoid treating discomfort as something that must be erased immediately. Pain that is unusual, severe, or unexplained deserves attention rather than more device pressure.
Pressure is not a score
Rapid Release specifically advises that added pressure is generally unnecessary with its devices. That is a useful reminder that intensity should follow instructions and comfort, not a belief that harder use creates better recovery.

Portable or more adjustable?
The Traveler is the compact option. The ProAm adds a wider speed range for active users. Compare them in our model guide.
Keep expectations realistic
No handheld device replaces sleep, nutrition, progressive training, rest, or appropriate healthcare. A useful tool can still be worth owning when its role is kept in proportion.
